We are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager to help run our lovely preschool and toddler group, based in Cambridge, operating term time only 8:40-15:10.

You will need at least 2 years experience in a setting, preferably as room leader or deputy manager. However, this role could be perfect for you if you are looking to progress to a deputy manager position and have the experience and knowledge.

You will need good command of spoken and written English and be able to operate Tapestry, reviewing and publishing observations for the rest of the team as well has having your own key children.

If you have experience of collating and submitting Early Years Funding data, that would be great but not essential.

-consideration of the well-being of others, you lead by example, your interactions are sensitive and respectful, and you use your experience of mentoring and leading within an early years environment to maintain a happy, motivated team.

- you are an advocate for partnership working; you thrive as part of a team environment, demonstrate exemplary communication skills, with colleagues, children and families

- a clear enhanced DBS is essential for this role

As a Deputy Manager, you will need to be level 3 qualified or above in correlation with the government guidelines. The role is for 37 hours per week, 38 weeks of the year. It is essential that you already have some leadership experience, and this role is perfect for anybody who is looking for their next step in the Early Years industry.

Under Fives Roundabout Pre-school and Toddler Group is a successful and happy pre-school for children aged 2 years 6 months to 4 years old in the city of Cambridge. We have this beautiful purpose built building, with excellent facilities and outside space. Our children are inquisitive, engaged and lots of fun to work with.

Under Fives Roundabout is a registered charity and not-for-profit community group, established in 1980 in the Round Church Hall.

We are run by a committee of parents who form the trustees for the charity. We meet twice a term to oversee and help with the running of Under Fives Roundabout. The committee is vital to Roundabout. As well as helping with everything from fundraising to finances, we also act as trustees for the charity. It’s a brilliant way of getting involved with your children’s experiences and education, and a great opportunity to meet other like-minded people and see ‘behind the scenes’ at our preschool.
